About the role
Private Energy Partners is seeking a skilled Technical Design Engineer to spearhead our energy projects from the Brisbane office. This role will require hands on capability in energy project BOP (either solar, BESS or Wind) and detailed design. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the technical integrity and efficiency of our designs, while also overseeing the review process of external consultants' work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical design process for energy projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, external consultants, and stakeholders to develop comprehensive design plans that meet project requirements and objectives.
  • Conduct detailed analysis and evaluation of designs to identify potential risks, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Review and provide feedback on design proposals, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation prepared by external consultants.
  • Manage the design review process, coordinating with cross-functional teams to address feedback, resolve issues, and ensure timely project execution.
  • Support project managers in the implementation and execution of design plans, providing technical guidance and expertise as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical design and engineering, with a focus on renewable energy projects, specifically Solar.
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, PVsyst, & Helioscope.
  • Strong knowledge of renewable energy systems (solar, BESS or Wind), including design principles, components, and performance factors.
  • Experience in reviewing and evaluating designs, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts and information to diverse audiences.
